User Interface Designer

UI Designer
EpikOne is seeking a User Interface (UX) Designer with a background working in the digital marketing space with a concentration in usability, wire-framing and interface design. The right candidate will be comfortable traversing from designing conceptual presentations to website optimization refinements to software user interface designs. 

The successful candidate will also possess effective client communication skills, be well organized and able to multi-task effectively. The position is based in Burlington, Vermont with limited travel. 

Core responsibilities


  • Design presentations and digital interfaces 
  • Visualize complex research findings through presentations
  • Developing concepts for information structure, understanding product/service content, analyzing user goals and target audience,  conceiving information architecture
  • Creating visualizations of content,  relating elements,  applying principles of human-computer interaction, branding  and aesthetics
  • Develops prototypes; conceptualizes information filtering and retrieval;  observes usability; and defines specifications
  • Work closely with applications development,  operations leads and project directors


Skills

  • Strong understanding of Usability best practices 
  • User interaction design portfolio 
  • Understanding of website optimization techniques 
  • Experience at an ad agency, web shop or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience with user interface design is required ·         
  • Proficient in software tools needed for design projects: HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Photoshop,Illustrator, and cross-browser compatibility are required; AJAX, Flash, are a plus
  • Proficient in developing information architecture, workflow/interaction diagrams and screen mockups
  • Knowledge of basic data modeling work flow structure
